4 Months

What a Happy Little Man!!!

Carter is smilie like this all the time unless he's tired or hungry!

Okay, so now that I've got some monthly shots posted I can start blogging Carter's monthly progress. By the way, can you tell that Carter's taking a really good nap this afternoon? YEAH!!!
Carter turned 4 months on Sept. 11th. I swear the boy has wanted to be "big" since the day he was born. He moves non-stop unless he's sleeping. My mom says she's never seen a baby move so much.

Right before his 4 month birthday he figured out how to roll all the way over. He was soooo proud of himself. At this point, he's gotten so good at it that the second you lay him down he rolls. He pulls his feet up and rolls to his left side. It makes for interesting diaper changes. Especially in the middle of the night when you're wrestling with a sleeper too. Here he is on his tummy.

Carter is trying to hold his bottle. He puts his hands up but just can't quite hang on to it. He also sticks his thumb in his mouth while he's drinking, which drives me crazy. He likes to swat at his bottle too which means you really have to hang on to the bottle otherwise it goes flying.

He is still sleeping well at night with consistantly only up once a night. We've had a couple 2 times a night, nights but for the most part it's only 1 time. He's been doing that since about 3 - 4 weeks. He's not the best sleeper during the day. I swear there's a little alarm clock in him that wakes him up after 40 - 45 minutes and he needs to go down for a nap every 2 hours on the nose. He actually had a really good nap day yesterday and so far so good this afternoon. Hence, my ablility to do all these posts. Hahaha!

Carter's definitely working on teeth! You can't see anything in there yet but he's been drooling and chewing on things like crazy for over a month now. Everything he can get ahold of goes right in his mouth. He's also able to take his 2 hands together to grasp things. He just frustrated and mad when he can't get a hold of something to his mouth. It's kind of funny to watch him try so hard.

Carter absolutely loves his Big Sis! He smiles at her all the time and watches everything she does. I keep telling Elle that she's in so much trouble once he's mobile. She thinks it's funny and says, "Yeah". We'll see how funny it is when it comes true. LOL!!

Just last week, all of a sudden, Carter started "talking" (squawking and babbling) more. He did this before but it's like he all of a sudden found his voice and boy does he use it. He'll sit in his Bumpo chair or exersaucer and just squeal and squawk and then smile really big. It's too funny!

For those of you that do not know what a Bumpo is, it's a molded little seat that you can put little ones in before they can sit on their own. Carter loves it! I got a tray to go on it and put toys on it and he can sit up and play. We put him in the center of the table when we eat. We call him our center piece. Since he's been sitting up in his Bumpo and sees us eating he is really watching us. It's like he wants to say, "Give me some of that." I think he's ready to start eating solids. The interest seems there. We're just holding off until we see the Dr. next week to start that since he's still so gassy and has poopy trouble. He also leans down and grabs at things when he's in his Bumpo. He'll also grab at things at the table if you have him sitting in your lap. Here's a picture of Carter in his Bumpo for the first time.

Carter is sooo big! He just kills me. He's got to be between 15 1/2 and 16 pounds now and I'm sure he's at least 26 in. long by now. He really needs to move to a big car seat because I'm sure he's right at the limit for his infant carrier. I'm just avoiding it because the carrier is so convienent, especially since he's not sitting on his own yet. I know I'm just delaying the inevitable.

Here's Carter sitting up in the stroller for the first time.

I suppose that's about it for now. I'm so happy I finally got a monthly progress posted! Yeah!!! I'm just going with it! Who knows when I'll get to the next one. LOL!!!
