Most of the pictures from October are on Elle's blog on a slide show. I'll do a little updating on Carter and add some of my favorite Halloween pics of him here too.
Carter got his ear tubes on Oct. 7th. He did wonderfully! He even did really well with the couple hour wait we had before hand. Post-op was a little hairy though. He was not a happy dude at all. He was hungry and wanted his milk!!! He drank and drank and drank. Dave had to run to the cafe in the hospital to get more milk. I brought a piece of string cheese to give him because I knew he would be starving. Sure enough, he wolfed that down in no time.

Carter went about 3 weeks without a cold, that's the longest since the beginning of Aug. He came down with one last week but so far it doesn't seem to be as bad as others in the past. Just a runny nose that seems to do well with Benedryl. I think his ears have held up because we have not had any signs of fluid coming out his ears as the Dr. said would happen if they were infected. I hope that never happens!!! That's just gross to think about!!!
Carter has started to pop out some new words since his surgery too. We're pleased with this progress. We had some concerns because a pre-op hearing test showed some definite hearing loss before surgery. He was only hearing at about 30 dbls. A post-op hearing test showed him hearing at about 10 dbls. which is right where they want him to be. Thank goodness!!! He has started to say "uh huh" for yes in the last week. He has also said "thank you", "hello Papa", we think we heard "Sissy" and he sings the Sticky Bubblegum song from story time at the library. It's very cute!!! He has his 18 month check-up next week with our Dr. so we'll discuss whether or not he should be screened for speech delays as the ENT Dr. wants us to have done. I don't really think it's necessary at this point in time.
What a cutie patootie!!
This is soooo cool!
YUCKY! This does not taste as good as I hoped it would!
I finally caught a cute little Tigger!
Mmmmm! This looks good!
Did you know that Tiggers like to rake leaves? I didn't!
Dave was getting ready to run an errand today. Carter walked up stairs with his "Buddies", Puppy Dog and Bear, laid down on them in the hallway and fell asleep. This was quite a surprise considering the boy doesn't not stop moving unless he's sleeping.
